Whatever your current activity level or fitness goals, Nordic Walking could be the perfect exercise for you. Nordic Walking enhances the natural walking movement. Strong, lightweight one-piece poles activate the upper body muscles, burning more calories, improving posture and reducing stress on joints. Please note that registration is essential as places are limited. In some cases medical and mobility conditions may mean that these classes are not be suitable and a one-to-one session may be more appropriate. Designed to ensure you are getting the most out of this activity so you continue to improve your fitness, posture and energy use! Please pay $6.00 directly to tutor for pole hire. This workshop is designed to give you an introduction to the basics of Nordic Walking. Get professional coaching and individual advice which will teach you the correct Nordic Walking technique, so that you can start to reap the benefits of this awesome activity! The correct Nordic Walking poles will be provided for use (please pay $6.00 for pole hire directly to tutor on the first day of the class). It is advised that you do not purchase poles prior to the course. Continue with Part 2 and complete your basic Nordic Walking technique. Northcote Auckland Auckland - Parkinsons Neurological Walking Group
Nordic Walking is walking with specially designed Nordic Walking Poles. It is an effective and safe form of physical activity for all ages and abilities, easy to learn and fun to do. The technique is an "intensification" of normal walking using the rhythm of the arms, legs and body for a total body work out. A Nordic Walking Group Class is being run by Rope Neuro Rehabilitation. A neurological physiotherapist who is also an internationally certified Nordic Walking Instructor will lead the class.
